This memoir from William (Will) Murray spans a well-lived and hard-worked life. He takes the reader on a journey from the horses of his childhood up through the California rodeo circuit of the 1960s and beyond, then into a life of ranching, logging, dancing, and romance. Murray’s self-deprecating humor and genuine voice will have you hanging up your hat and settling in for one story after another.
Rode Hard and Never Put Up: An Untamed Life will be published by Casa Urraca Press in Spring 2026. Preorders are open now with a pre-sale discount automatically applied. All preorders will be shipped prior to publication date.
About the Author
William (Will) Murray was born and raised on a ranch in southern California. There, he learned to work hard, ride broncs and bulls, and get into more trouble than should be allowed. All of his younger years were spent rodeoing, logging, and raising cattle. He eventually moved to the central coast of California, where he started the Cresent V Ranch and Murray Outfitters, guiding folks into (and back out of) the wilderness. Murray now lives on his ranch near Santa Fe, New Mexico, with the love of his life.
